The Composers Today program fosters creativity through composition by both students and teachers. The Composers Today program invites students to develop musicianship skills, have access to professional feedback, and a chance to perform their musical creation. There are three tracks in Composers Today; CT Evaluations, CT State Contest and Young Composers Guild (YCG).

This program is open to all MTAC Teacher Members. MTAC Teachers must be in good standing through paying MTAC membership dues by the annual State deadline of October 15.

Application fees are non-refundable.

YOUNG COMPOSERS GUILD (YCG) | YCG is the highest achievement that a Composers Today composition student in high school (grades 10–12) can attain. Students who have won first, second or third prize in the Composers Today State Contest at least once during their high school years will be invited to apply for Guild membership. The Guild is for serious young composers who plan to pursue music composition as a career.
